Factors associated with spontaneous abortion and to implement a home based post abortion care protocol from a prevention perspective in a rural part of Odisha, South-Eastern India: a hospital based cross-sectional study

Background: Spontaneous abortion (SA) is one of the most common unfavourable reproductive outcomes among women around world, making maternal health promotion a major challenge. The aim current study was to identify potential predictors associated with SA and recognized need for providing home-based post-abortion care counselling lower post complications.Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional conducted rural ages 18 45 years who had experienced at least spontaneous miscarriage less than 20 weeks pregnancy. Participants were interviewed using standardized questionnaire that included demographic, socioeconomic, information. Home based protocol introduced target populations prevention complications satisfaction assessed after week implementation.Results: Of 485 patients screened eligibility, 24.12% history SA. multivariate analysis revealed occurrence in our significantly gravidity, multiparity, previous pregnancy complications, fetal outcome comorbidities. resulted higher infection rate.Conclusions: findings reveals multiple modifiable factors may increase risk abortion. One community participatory interventions terms home module significant impact on improving rate women.
